    Day 1: Lisbon

Welcome to Portugal.  Begin your journey in the country’s capital, Lisbon.  Get a private transfer from the airport to the hotel and drop off your luggage, before you explore this vibrant city.  Take it easy today, as you will be jet-lagged.  However, treat yourself to a lovely dinner, where you can possibly see some of Portugal’s fado music.

    Day 2: Lisbon

Today we would recommend getting familiar with Lisbon with a guided walking tour.  This will highlight some of the cities gems-including the riverfront Praça do Comércio and the shopping district of Chiado.  You will definitely have some opportunities to explore some delightful shopfronts and taste some of the Portuguese delicacies.  This city is rich in history and tradition, so take your time and learn about the rich culture.

    Day 3: Lisbon

Today take a tour outside of Lisbon to visit nearby Sintra.  Sintra is believed to be a place of mystical power from ancient Celts.  The magical Quinta da Regaleira reflects that belief in its mythological symbolism and gorgeous grottoes.  You can also enjoy the magnificent views of Palácio da Pena and Palácio Nacional, before you meander leisurely back to Lisbon.  All in all, it will be a lovely day to see more of this amazing country.

    Overnight in Lisbon

    Day 4: Lisbon to Porto

Today, head to Porto.  Porto is Portugal’s second city and is known for dozens of wine caves lining the Douro River.  Cheers!  Find your hotel, check-in, and spend the rest of the day admiring some of the beautiful architecture of Porto.

    Day 5: Porto

Enjoy the city today, as we recommend a full panoramic tour and since Porto is known for its wine, we suggest a lovely port wine tasting in the evening.  Begin by getting familiar with the city’s historic heart on foot.  You will pass landmarks such as Sé do Porto and the São Bento Train Station.  Then make your way to the energetic waterfront at Foz do Douro and then across the river to the Serra do Pilar viewpoint.  Finally, move on to the port caves across the river from Porto in Vila Nova de Gaia, where you can learn all about the history of the delicious port production.

    Overnight in Porto

    Day 6: Porto

Venture outside of Porto today to their beautiful vineyards.  We recommend spending a full day in the Douro Valley.  Head to a winery for a morning tour and tasting.  Then head to another winery for a lunch paired with some lovely wines.  Afterward, finish your day with a third winery before heading back to the beautiful city of Porto, while taking in the amazing scenery.

    Overnight in Porto

    Day 7: Depart for Home

A private driver will collect you from your accommodations and bring you to the Porto airport for your return flight home.
