Why Thailand

Golden temples, jungle, and turquoise water.

Thailand rewards the traveler who wants range. In a single trip you can move from the gilded temples and tuk-tuk markets of Bangkok to the cool jungle hills of the north, then on to the longtail boats and limestone islands of the Andaman. Getting Thailand right means pairing the icons with the quiet corners — and timing it well: peak season runs November to mid-March, when the country is at its coolest and driest.

Juniper designs every Thailand itinerary as a fully private, custom journey — no group tours, no fixed packages. From a Bangkok river hotel to a private-pool villa on the islands, every detail, guide, and transfer is arranged before you travel.

Bangkok & the Temples
The Grand Palace and Wat Arun, a longtail ride on the Chao Phraya, and a street-food crawl by tuk-tuk — explored with private guides who know where the best plates are hiding.
Chiang Mai & the North
Centuries-old Lanna temples, ethical elephant sanctuaries, the cloud forests and waterfalls of Doi Inthanon, lantern-lit night markets, and a hands-on northern Thai cooking class.
Islands & Beaches
Phuket, the cliffs of Krabi and Railay, Phi Phi, the karst lagoons of Phang Nga Bay, and private-pool resorts — the turquoise Thailand the postcards are made of, paced entirely around you.

Great custom travel is an investment. Your specialist will walk through exactly what a fully private, tailor-made Thailand itinerary looks like for your trip during a free 30-minute consultation.

Sample Itinerary

Best of Thailand — 12 Days

Bangkok · Chiang Mai · Krabi

This is a sample itinerary — for inspiration only. Every Juniper trip is designed from scratch around you. Many clients love an itinerary very similar to this one — if something here resonates, your specialist can build something just like it (or better) specifically for your travel style, dates, and group.

1
Arrive in Bangkok
Bangkok+
Welcome to Thailand! After clearing Suvarnabhumi, a private transfer brings you to your Bangkok hotel. Settle in and ease into the city at your own pace — your specialist will have arranged a gentle first evening, perhaps a quiet riverside dinner and your first proper plate of pad thai, before the days ahead.
Overnight: Bangkok
A full day with a private guide tracing Bangkok from the gilded Grand Palace and the riverside spires of Wat Arun to a longtail ride along the Chao Phraya. By night, a tuk-tuk street-food crawl through the markets — satay, mango sticky rice, and a tucked-away noodle stall your guide knows. Bangkok rewards curiosity.
Overnight: Bangkok
A short domestic flight north to Chiang Mai, the cultural capital of the Lanna kingdom. Check in, then spend the afternoon wandering the old city’s moated lanes and centuries-old temples. As dusk falls, the night market comes alive with handicrafts, lanterns, and northern Thai cooking.
Overnight: Chiang Mai
A morning at an ethical elephant sanctuary — no riding, just observing and feeding rescued elephants in the forest. Then on to Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest peak, with its twin royal pagodas, cloud forests, and waterfalls. A day that pairs Thailand’s gentle wildlife with its jungle highlands.
Overnight: Chiang Mai
Begin with a hands-on northern Thai cooking class — a market visit to shop for lemongrass, galangal, and chilies, then your own curry paste pounded by hand. After lunch, a flight south toward the Andaman coast and the islands, swapping mountains for turquoise water.
Overnight: Krabi
A day on the Andaman coast. Railay’s limestone cliffs rise straight from the sea, reachable only by longtail boat, with some of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand at their feet. Swim, kayak the lagoons, or simply settle in with a book as the tide rolls in.
Overnight: Krabi
A private longtail-boat day through Phang Nga Bay — sheer karst islands, hidden lagoons reached through sea caves, and the emerald water that made this coast famous. Snorkel, kayak, and picnic on a quiet beach before the boat turns for home at golden hour.
Overnight: Krabi
After breakfast, a private transfer brings you to the airport for your onward flight. Most travelers leave Thailand already planning a return — for the islands, regions, and meals they didn’t have time for. Your Juniper specialist remains reachable throughout departure day.

“Everything planned by Juniper Tours went incredibly smoothly. Every driver and guide was wonderful and the one time we thought we might miss a connection, because of unexpected traffic, our driver was on the phone with the 24/7 service desk working to sort it out for us. I was very impressed with the service and the app.”

Common Questions

Thailand travel questions

The peak season runs November to mid-March — cool, dry, and the most comfortable time to travel. April to June is hot, with the Songkran water festival in mid-April. July to October is the green, rainy season, with lush landscapes and lower prices. The islands differ: the Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi, Phi Phi) is best November–April, while the Gulf coast (Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan) is best for the rest of the year. Your specialist will time it to where you want to go.
Most Juniper Thailand itineraries run 10–16 days. Ten to twelve days lets you combine the north — Bangkok and Chiang Mai — with a stretch on the islands. Fourteen to sixteen days adds more island time, a second country like Cambodia, or quieter corners such as Khao Sok or Sukhothai. Domestic flights make the country easy to cover.
Wonderfully. Private-pool villas on the Andaman, barefoot-luxe island resorts, a floating bungalow in the Khao Sok rainforest, longtail days through Phang Nga Bay, and the spa and dining culture Thailand is famous for — it is one of the most romantic and relaxed honeymoons there is. See our dedicated Thailand honeymoon itinerary.
Yes. Like every Juniper Tours journey, your Thailand trip is 100% private and built from scratch around your dates, pace, and interests — no group tours and no pre-set packages. Private guides, drivers, domestic flights, island transfers, and experiences are arranged and confirmed before you travel.
