Ubud · Munduk · Pemuteran · Ungasan
Four days to settle into Bali's cultural heart at your own pace. A private driver meets you on arrival and brings you up into the hills around Ubud, then your specialist threads the days between its temples, hidden waterfalls and the famous terraced rice paddies — much of it on a full-day chauffeur-guided basis, configurable to how much (or how little) you want to see.
There is room here for the dramatic too: a Mt Batur sunrise hike up the active volcano, the summit reached just as the light breaks over the caldera and Lake Batur below. Prefer a lie-in? Your specialist can swap it for a sunset ascent instead. Evenings return you to Ubud's calmer register — a temple dance, a quiet dinner, the sound of the gamelan drifting up the valley — from Maya Ubud, a resort on a ridge between river valleys.
Climb into the cool, misty highlands of Munduk, where the air turns crisp and the crowds fall away entirely. This is Bali at altitude — coffee and clove plantations stitched across the slopes, waterfalls tucked into the rainforest, and twin crater lakes mirroring the sky. A coffee-plantation tour walks you through the bean from branch to cup, with local crafts and weaving alongside.
The heart of the stay is a kayak on Lake Tamblingan, a sacred, near-silent crater lake ringed by jungle and old lakeside temples. Paddle out across the still water in the early quiet — no engines, no day-trippers, just the mist lifting off the surface. Nights are spent at Munduk Moding Plantation, a coffee-plantation retreat with a clifftop infinity pool in the cool highlands. It is the most restorative stretch of the journey.
Down to the quiet north coast and the fishing village of Pemuteran, a world away from Bali's busy south, settling into Amertha Bali Villas, beachfront villas on Bali's quiet north coast. The water here is calm and clear, the reefs healthy, and the pace unhurried. A boat carries you out to Menjangan Island in the West Bali National Marine Park for some of the best snorkeling in Bali — wall dives, coral gardens, and turtles in glassy, protected water.
Pemuteran is also home to a celebrated coral-reef restoration project, where Biorock structures are regrowing the reef and an underwater sculpture trail has formed beneath the surface. Snorkel above the sculptures as the coral reclaims them — a quietly hopeful counterpoint, and a side of Bali very few travelers ever see.
Close the journey in style on the Bukit Peninsula at Ungasan, in a luxury pool villa at Karma Kandara perched high on the cliffs above the Indian Ocean. After two weeks of temples, lakes and reefs, these days are deliberately unstructured — free time to enjoy the property, the villa's private pool, and the view that drops away to the sea.
The signature of the stay is the resort's private beach club far below, reached by the on-property cable car only — a funicular that carries you down the cliff face to a stretch of white sand and turquoise water that feels entirely your own. On the final morning, a private transfer brings you to the airport, most travelers already plotting a return.
This is a sample custom route — a starting point, not a fixed package. Many clients travel something very close to this. Book a free consultation and a specialist will build from here.
Your specialist pre-arranges the right luxury experiences based on your interests and travel style. These are the custom experience types available on this route — specific choices are made with you, not for you.
Activities are selected and pre-booked with your specialist based on your interests — not all activities are included in every trip version. Availability varies by season.
You work directly with a specialist who knows Bali deeply — not a call center or booking agent. Every consultation is with someone who has been there, stayed in those villas, and knows the island inside out.

Allison designs your Bali trip from scratch — the right villa in Ubud or on the Bukit cliffs, the quiet north-coast reefs, and the timing that keeps the highland lakes misty and serene.
