Welcome to Iceland! Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by a private driver who will meet you at the arrival gate and transfer you to your overnight accommodation. This is when you will have time to relax and explore Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital.
Today you will be exploring the world-famous Golden Route. This will be a long day, but each stop will make it worth it. The first stop will be at Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park, where you will be able to hike along with the North American plate and through Game of Thrones scenery at Almannagjá gorge, watch the thundering waters at Öxarárfoss waterfall, Marvel at Þingvallavatn, Iceland’s largest natural lake and, witness Langjökull glacier. The next stop on the route will be at the Great Geysir and Strokkur Geysir, natural wonders that keep getting more and more dramatic as you get closer to the geothermal area. The third magnificent stop of the day is the Gullfoss Waterfall where the water plummets 105ft. After a long day of exploring the Golden Circle, you will return to Reykjavik.
We will be staying in Reykjavik again today. Today you will have the opportunity to explore Icelandic Viking history. You will have more time to explore the city, indulge in the local food and pubs which are all in the day’s prep for the experience of a lifetime later that night. In Reykjavik, you are located in the perfect latitude to experience the Northern Lights. You will hop on a tour in the evening to head out to the ideal locations to catch the lights!
Many say experiencing an Icelandic whale watching exploration is just as magnificent as experiencing the Northern lights. This morning you will go aboard the ship and set sail to watch these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. After a long day, you will return to Reykjavik for the afternoon/evening.
After waking up and enjoying some breakfast you will head 40 minutes south to the Blue Lagoon spas for the day. Here you will be relaxing at the spa and enjoy the healing silica mud, warm and soothing water, charming surrounding, and billowing steam stacks. This evening will end at accommodation at the spa so you can continue your relaxing day into the night.
This morning after breakfast you will be heading back to Reykjavik for your final day. You have spent a lot of time in the city sleeping and getting ready for other adventures, but this day is meant for exploring the city and seeing the beauty of the location you’ve called home for the last week. Today you get to visit Hallgrimskirkja Church, and the Harpa Concert Hall, and Old Harbor. After seeing the sights you will get to spend the afternoon exploring the public gardens and parks.
